Lee County Library—Library Assistant, Sr. Position


Lee County Library is accepting applications for a part-time Library Assistant, Sr. position.

Position Overview: The Library Assistant, Sr. position is at least 18 hour per week position at $12.84 per hour. Evening and weekend hours required and flexibility to work at all Lee County Library locations. Must have at least a year of results-based supervisory experience and team leadership skills.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Circulation and reference tasks

Checking in and out books and other materials

Readers’ Advisory

Online searching and use of technology

Demonstrating and assisting with library resources and databases for the public

Customer Service

Basic housekeeping including light cleaning

Technology and device assistance for the public

Supervising staff

Program assistance


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED or the ability to hold within 6 months

Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Applications

Online searching skills and use of current technology

Effective communication skills

Enthusiastic attitude and friendly personality

Leadership Experience


Preferred Qualifications:

 College Education

Leadership Training

Library Experience
